You can avoid many spam calls using our IVR (auto-attendant) features. With an IVR, someone calls your OpenPhone number. Then they can hear menu options and dial a number to reach your team (eg. press 0 for customer service). Since robocalls can't interact with IVRs, you can eliminate most spam.

Check out our detailed guide on how to set up an IVR on OpenPhone!

If you’ve already received spam from a specific phone number, you can also block them in OpenPhone. Here’s how:

1. Click into the conversation.

2. Tap “...”, located top right of the conversation.

3. Click 🚫 “Block”.

Spam calls are unfortunately an industry wide-problem. We’re constantly trying to improve our anti-spam measures. Most of the time, spam calls will go away on their own once you put these spam prevention steps in place. However, sometimes spam calls can overwhelm your number. In these cases, you may want to change your number.
