Your account security is our top priority. We've upgraded our login system to provide you with a more secure experience!
How is login changing with the login updates?
Our new login system offers enhanced security for accessing OpenPhone across web and mobile. When you log in using your email and password, you'll now have an option to log in using fingerprint scan or Face ID on supported devices.
How do I authenticate my account?
You'll receive an email and and in-app alert when your account is ready to switch to the new login system. To update your login, you'll need to log out and log back in.
How do I update my login?
Important: To update your login, you’ll need to logout of OpenPhone then log back in. For both mobile and web, if you don't logout and log back in, you will eventually be automatically logged out of the app, and prompted to log back in using the updated login process.
Below, we provide the simple steps for both mobile and web.
On mobile
- You’ll get an alert when your account is ready to switch to the new login system. Logout of OpenPhone.
- Log back into OpenPhone and you’re all set!
Note: If you do not log out and log back in, you will eventually be automatically logged out and prompted to log back in using the more secured, updated process.
On web
- You’ll get an alert when your account is ready to switch to the new login system. Logout of OpenPhone.
- You will be logged out of OpenPhone and prompted to log back in using the updated login process.
Important: Once you complete updating your login, all web sessions will automatically expire after 30 days of activity or after 15 days of inactivity. This simply means you will be logged out and need to log back in for your security.
- NOTE: You will not be logged out during an active session.
Why are there different approaches for mobile and web?
Web browsers don’t securely store tokens long-term. So, more regular logins are required to maintain your account’s security.
What happens if I don't update my login?
If you have not updated your login process by May 2025, one of the following will happen:
- Automatic login updates: We’ll automatically log you out of OpenPhone on mobile and web/desktop, requiring you to log back in using the more secure process.
- Sunsetting the old login process: The old login system will no longer be supported.
Important note for iOS users
- Mobile users on outdated devices /OS versions will lose access. For example, you must be on at least iOS 15 to get access to OpenPhone. iPhone 6 is the oldest device compatible with iOS 15.
- To avoid disruption, update your OpenPhone on mobile or switch to the web version if using an unsupported device, such as older iPhones that can’t run the latest iOS.
