How to add Sona AI Agent to your call flow

Once you've added Sona to your OpenPhone subscription, your next step is to add Sona to your call flow.

Important: The permissions for accessing Sona are the same as for accessing call flow builder. That just means you need to be an owner or admin for your OpenPhone workspace.

  1. After selecting an inbox to add Sona to, you'll be taken to the call flow builder canvas.
  2. From the list on the right, find the Sona steps in the available steps.
  3. Drag the Sona step into your call flow builder canvas.

You can place the Sona step in different places:

  • After the Ring users step (to handle missed calls)
  • After a phone menu step
  • After a business hours step

You don't have to just choose one! You can add multiple Sona steps in different parts of your call flow and configure each one differently, depending on when and how you want Sona to handle calls.
