How to port-out your number from OpenPhone to a new carrier

To port your phone number from OpenPhone to another carrier, follow these steps.

  1. Fill out this form ⤴️ to initiate the port-out request to the OpenPhone porting team. Our team will review the request and get the port-out details.

  2. Within 24 hours, we will respond with the information your new carrier needs. Most carriers require you to fill out a Letter of Authorization (LOA). Important: Please make sure the details you provide in your LOA match what we provide you.

  3. Contact the carrier to which you’d like to transfer your number.

  4. Your new carrier will inform you of your port date. On that date your phone number will be ported from OpenPhone to your new carrier.

This process can take from 1 day to 2 weeks, depending on the carrier you're transferring to. Your number will be operational and on OpenPhone up until the port date so there's no service interruption for you.

If you have any other questions, please submit a request here. We're happy to help!
