I'm not receiving text messages on my OpenPhone number

If you're experiencing issues with receiving text messages on your OpenPhone number, there are a few things to check for:

Are you expecting a text message as a method of verification?

Some services don't allow virtual numbers like OpenPhone to be used for authentication for security reasons. Learn more about this here

Did you opt into text messages from a company?

You won't be able to receive texts with a recipient that uses short codes.

Did the original sender experience any errors?
OpenPhone accepts MMS file sizes up to 5MB, however, if the original sender has a phone carrier that has a lower file limit size. It is possible that at the time of delivery, the message failed and caused it to not be sent to your OpenPhone number successfully. 

Was this a recently ported number?

Occasionally, SMS functionality can take 24-48 hours after a port has been complete. If you're having issues with texts after a port, please submit a request here and we'll escalate this with our porting team.
