How to put a caller on hold

Putting a call on hold is a great solution when you need to consult with your team or confirm information.

Note: When you have a call on hold and answer another call, the first call is disconnected. OpenPhone does not currently have call waiting.

Putting an individual on hold from the web or desktop app

Navigate to the individual caller and select the menu. Then, select, “Put call on hold”.

Putting an individual on hold from the mobile app

Navigate to the individual caller and select their name. Then, select, “Put on hold”.

Putting a group on hold from the web or desktop app

Put every external number (any number that's not part of your OpenPhone workspace) in a group call on hold by selecting the room hold button located at the bottom of your call actions toolbar, or alternatively from the More actions menu.
